Stuart has been in the building industry for over 20 years. In 1996, after working for another local contractor for a number of years, Stuart formed his own company and started Charity Construction. In 2003 he incorporated the company to become Stuart Charity Construction Ltd.

Since our start we have worked closely with all of our clients to make the building of their dream home or cottage a pleasant experience.

We offer our clients a full range of services to meet their building needs. We can manage all aspects of a project from having your ideas and dreams realized on paper and have professional building plans drawn. We can obtain all the required permits and of course construct your project, schedule all trades and supply all the required materials to make your dream home a reality.

We also understand that some homeowners may want to take a more hands-on approach to building their dream home or cottage. We are more than willing to work with them and offer whatever experience or services they may require.

In addition to offering our clients conventional framed construction of their custom homes, we specialize in Insulated Concrete Form (ICF) construction. Over the years we have installed many different brands of ICF Forms. Our own home was one of the first ICF Block homes in the Kawartha Lakes area. We have used ICF blocks for basements in combination with conventionally framed main floors. We have also completed entire homes from footings to the roof using ICF blocks. We can make recommendations whether ICF blocks are right for your project based on your specific site and design of your home.

Over the years we have built a large network of qualified sub-trades from concrete floor finishers, plumbers and electricians. These trades’ people all take pride in their work and understand our commitment to building a quality home.

We carry complete commercial liability insurance and are registered with WSIB (Workers Safety and Insurance Board). We ensure that all sub-trades carry the same coverage.

We offer our clients the highest level of quality workmanship, superior material and take considerable pride in our work which has earned us a reputation for excellence. Many of our clients after working so closely through the construction process become our close friends. These clients often become repeat customers getting us to come back to complete other projects – decks, docks, boathouse and garages for example. A lot of our customers come to us from referrals by these same customers; we feel that says a lot about the quality of our work.
